I recently broke my Bernette (Bernina brand). I am in the market for another sewing machine but don’t have any clue where to even look. I am looking at paying around 300.00 dollars for it – could be a little more or a little less.
I am not a huge sewer – mostly hemming pants, sewing costumes and other little craft projects. It was actually my ignorance that broke my bernina.
Any suggestions on machines. I want something durable and good quality – a little above what a typical crafter needs.

I have a brother, and it was in that price range. its great, it has 60 fancy stutches, comes with all the feet, and does great free motion. you can google brother sewing machines and go to the brother sewing machines website. I think my model number is CS6800? something like that. its white and blue, and its in the 300 range. I highly recommend it to you, and i havent had a problem with it so far!
