Shirr fabric with Brother Sewing Machine?

Question by : Shirr fabric with Brother Sewing Machine?
I have a Brother XL 2600i and I’ve been trying to shirr fabric for a while, watched many video tutorials, but I just can’t get through it.
Can anybody help please?

Are you trying to shirr with elastic thread, or are you just trying to shirr with regular dressmaking thread? How heavy is the fabric?

If the first, you won’t see much shirring until you’ve sewn multiple rows and then steamed the fabric well with a steam iron held about an inch above the shirring.

If you’re shirring with thread, loosen the upper tension to about 2 and use a long straight stitch, then gently pull the top threads.
