Does it have the thread takeup lever (the nodding donkey thing) and tension on the end of the machine opposite the handwheel? Looks something like this?

If so, chances are it’s a Singer 15 clone, probably the most copied straight stitch home sewing machine ever. In fact, you can still buy new ones made to that pattern. Take the free manual here: http://www.singerco.com/accessories/instruction-manuals that comes up when you put “15” in the search box. Yes, it’s for a treadle machine, but should work for your machine.

ISMACS (international sewing machine collectors society) has documented more than 500 “brand” names of sewing machines that are “badged” — meaning generic sewing machines that have a store’s brand name on them instead of the maker. Sears still does this — current Kenmore sewing machines are actually Janome in disguise. Some of the ISMACS members may be able to tell you more about the machine, but good clear photos — front, back, sides, bobbins and bobbin case — would help. http://www.ismacs.net/faq.html#badged http://www.ismacs.net/digest.html
