You may want to check to see which way to thread is unwinding from the bobbin. You want it to unwind counterclockwise. Also is this a front load. If it is the bobbin case may not be seated all the way in . Make sure you have the lever on the bobbin case pulled out as you place it on the spindle. That will help it seat better.
