Question about pulling up bottom bobbin thread in a new White Sew E-Z machine?

Question by LittleBirdKK: Question about pulling up bottom bobbin thread in a new White Sew E-Z machine?
Ok, I just started sewing and I got a new Sew E-Z machine from HSN shopping network. I’m having a hard time pulling up the bottom bobbin thread so it loops onto the top thread before sewing.

I’m also not sure if I am supposed to have the eye of the needle facing me or facing the side of the machine. I did call the 1-800 number and the customer service person told me the eye of the needle should face me, but for some dang reason the bottom bobbin thread won’t pull up and loop with the top thread. Can someone with experience with the New Sew E-Z machine help me with these 2 questions?

Thread the upper thread and leave a “tail” behind the needle. (yes, the hole should face you)
Put the bobbin in and leave a tail
Hold the tail from the upper thread and hand turn the wheel on the side of your machine, making the needle go up and down. Keep holding the tail and it will pick up the bottom bobbin thread. Pull both tails behind the needle.
When you start sewing hold the tails for the first few stitches.
